Brazilian dance-rock ensemble CSS came to national attention (as many bands do nowadays) after their song “Music Is My Hot, Hot Sex” appeared in an iPod Touch ad. True to the title of the song, the band practically exude the sweaty, sexy groove that comes to mind when one thinks of the land of Carnaval, though their music and visual aesthetic owe more to Brooklyn hipster style than bossa nova or Tropicália. Lead singer Lovefoxxx’s heavily accented English purrs, shouts and sasses all over debut-album highlight “Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above.” Sounds like a plan, CSS. Your place or ours?
