San Clemente Seafest

Before we lose that last bit of warm weather, visit the city with arguably the best beaches in the county for the annual San Clemente Seafest on the city’s historic pier. The Seafest obviously revolves around showcasing the food of the Pacific Ocean—more specifically, a semi-famous clam-chowder cook-off. Many residents, restaurants and local businesses will be competing for the title of best chowder this side of New England; you can buy tasting tickets to sample the chowder of your favorite contenders. Fisherman’s Restaurant will also be serving up fresh seafood on the beach, including lobster and oysters on the half-shell. A new addition to the fest is the Paddleboard Surf Contest, with locals competing.
