Moulin Rouge

Photo by Jeanne Rice MOULIN ROUGE (2001) is Baz Lurhman's post-impressionist carnival ride of gorgeous excess, wrapped around a simple story of tragic love. Dancer Tracy Smith is the Weekly's post hoc impression of Nicole Kidman wrapped in a handmade, cotton-back satin corset boned in steel (Versatile Fashions, $298). The antique crystal and silver disco-drop earrings—richer-looking than Mrs. Howell—are from Flare for Women ($110). The swing? That's compliments of the Galaxy Concert Theatre in Santa Ana.

Stylist: Stacy Davies. Makeup: Christina Godbee. Set production for the Galaxy Concert Theatre: Milo Powley and Damien Sanders.
