Lavanilla Laboratories' "The Healthy Deodorant" has been getting buzz as the holy grail of natural deodorants. It comes in a variety of vanilla-based scents, and while the scents aren't amazing, they don't have that health-food-store smell either. It is formulated without aluminum, parbens or sulfates; goes on silky-smooth and clear; is non-irritating—and is vegan, too! Lasts for about 10 hours and actually keeps you relatively dry for not being an antiperspirant! Available at Sephora; $18 for 2 ounces or $10 for 0.9 ounces.
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist antiperspirant is the cult favorite of deodorants (there really is such a thing). It offers sweat protection and a luxurious scent that's similar to a sultry powder. It goes on smooth, lasts all day and is great for sensitive skin. It does leave a white residue and contains a bunch of chemicals—including the dreaded aluminum. Available at your finer department stores; $20 for 1.7 ounces.
Derma Doctor's Total Nonscents maximum-protection antiperspirant has a brightening agent that lightens the skin of your underarms—talk about First World problems! But if you're the kind who's concerned with that sort of thing and aren't too wary of a product that changes your skin tone, this may be for you. It's really gentle despite its transformative powers; keeps all day clear, wet and scentless; and can be put on right after shaving without stinging. But get ready to cough up a pretty penny! Available at Sephora; $28 for 3 ounces.
