While it’s pretty much impossible to think of the Kander and Ebb musical Cabaret without Liza Minnelli and Bob Fosse (and Joel Grey and Michael York), this award-winning tale of an English singer who falls for an American writer in pre-war Berlin is still a heap of fun even without Liza with a Z. Filled with snappy, exceptionally wrought songs and many young ladies in corsets and stockings (and a few men), Cabaret reminds us all that life is short—and when the chips are down, all you need are sexy songs and a stein of beer. Really, that’s all. Go let the students at Fullerton College prove it to you, and remember: life is a cabernet.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: March 8. Continues through March 15, 2012
