Blues at the Crossroads: Muddy & The Wolf

Blues at the Crossroads honors two musical legends, Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf—both of whom are often labeled as the “father of modern Chicago blues.” In the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, James Cotton, Jody Williams, Bob Margolin, and Tinsley Ellis perform a tribute to Muddy and The Wolf, two of the most influential blues artists and friendly rivals. They are said to have inspired Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and many more modern musicians. The Fabulous Thunderbirds, who have toured with the Rolling Stones and Clapton, headline this celebratory performance, but James Cotton happens to be the only living musician to have played with both Muddy and The Wolf.
