Bedroom Farce

British playwright Alan Ayckbourn (Absurd Person Singular, Private Fears in Public Places) politely stepped over the rules of couth, personal space and basic human decency with his comedy Bedroom Farce. Set among three different bedrooms, four couples have a whirlwind night of jealousy, miscommunication and ruined plans—all because of one couple's suffocating self-centeredness (might sound like someone you know). In Bedroom Farce, we get a magnified look at intimate issues and hurdles of relationships from the newly married to the married-for-decades. Written in 1975, Farce is a highly sophisticated comedy set at a rapid pace—revived often, the play hit Off-Broadway in 2008 and is set for a Dublin run this year. Don't miss a local performance at Stages this week—and maybe glimpse a bit of yourself in one of these characters.

Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 16. Continues through Sept. 22, 2013
