47th Annual Sunset Beach Art Festival

The otherwise quiet little nook of Orange County comes alive with art, crafts, music and food every Mother's Day weekend for the annual Sunset Beach Art Festival. Each year, SB locals invite folks from surrounding communities to come see what “makes our neighbors family” with a weekend-long, family-friendly jubilee featuring more than 100 craft and art booths along the grass between N. Pacific and S. Pacific from Broadway to Seventh Street. The gathering was started by a women's group called Las Damas, who began their fundraising fests with the Beachcomber's Carnival back in 1948. Their efforts evolved into the Sunset Beach Art Festival, and keeping with their philanthropic tradition, proceeds from the event go toward education grants; art programs; and charities for the mentally ill, abused women and homeless families.
