2001: A Space Odyssey

Determined to make a science fiction film that raised the bar from the popular “monsters and sex” craze, director Stanley Kubrick met with British sci-fi writer and inventor Arthur C. Clarke in 1964 and began work on what would become the defining project of their lives. Four years later, their sublime Space Odyssey was hailed by critics as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made. Today, this epic story of human evolution and first contact told through classical music masterpieces, surreal imagery and minimal dialogue still serves as a cinematic artifact in which many find pathways to both the subconscious and the divine.
