More About

You're the hostess at the "upscale" pizza lounge in downtown Huntington Beach who refused my granddaughter access to the restroom since they're "for customers only." I guess you didn't realize that when a toddler says she has to pee, SHE HAS TO PEE! Perhaps you gained a new understanding as she christened your entry/patio area with a whole lot of "liquid" on the way out. Kudos to the unfortunate but extremely understanding customers who had to witness this young girl's public humiliation while they were eating mere feet away. Perhaps you had time to rethink spirit vs. letter of the law while cleaning up the mess, but judging by the fake smile and blank look in your eyes, I doubt it.

I will wager the rule was created to prevent homeless from making a mess I driving away customers, a reason should accompany rules.

I suggest that she was probably not the owner, or even manager, and probably would have caught a load of shit by the dumber than a bag of rocks management if she had shown the humanity to bend the rules.

It's easy to see what kind of style management has, look at the attitude of the first-line folks. Remind me, again, which dirction does shit flow?

Poor kid. There's the "letter of the law" and then there's "the right thing to do". Let the little kid use the bathroom for pete's sake!

"Shit rolls downhill". Too true. And I can't help but think if that if the non-customer asking to use the bathroom was a friend of the employee or the manager or the boss then they would have been allowed to use the facilities, no questions asked.

Your point regarding a friend who may have asked would likely be allowed is well taken.

Much appreciated. It's really just what I've observed about human nature over the years - the "rules are the rules"...unless they inconvenience your friends and family.
