If your interest in Latin Jazz begins and ends with Tito Puente, then you're out of the loop of other current musicians that are as equally mesmerizing in their performances (but seriously, how has your head been in the sand for so long?). Louie Cruz Beltran and his Latin Jazz Band are stunners in the genre, mixing Afro Cuban rhythms and R n' B influences in the mix that will move and dazzle you. The percussion master avidly appears in concerts and shows in and around Southern California, and according to Beltran his longest non-stop drum performance to date lasted over an hour at the Playboy Jazz Festival. If that's not a testament to a passion for playing music then who knows what is; grab a dancing partner tonight and check out Beltran's fiery percussion skills at Steamer's Jazz Cafe.
