Consider something for a moment—how many new holiday traditions are known to have sprung up in the past 30 years? If the words "Black Friday" sprung from your lips, you should have a bar of lifebuoy soap shoved down your throat. The only answer to that question is the annual watching (and rewatching) of the 1983 comedy classic A Christmas Story. So beloved is this film that multiple generations learned its comic nuggets by rote ("you'll shoot your eye out!"), truly making it part of our national consciousness. This year, instead of watching it on TBS, bundle the kids up (like ticks about to pop) and head down to the Regency South Coast Village theater for a onetime Christmas showing.
