Sci-fi comics get the live theater treatment with The Intergalactic Nemesis series, now performing at the Samueli Theater. Combining old-fashioned radio drama (three actors and a foley artist voice all parts and sound effects in front of retro microphones), with thousands of graphic novel and comic book-inspired images, The Intergalactic Nemesis is a stage production unlike any other. This story is the sequel to last year's hit production—in Book Two: Robot Planet Rising, we discover the "mystery of Elbee-Dee-Oh’s disappearance in deep space," as well as delight in the visuals of lots and lots of robots—possibly to be used for evil purposes. If you've ever geekily dreamed of graphic novels coming to life, this is as close as it gets.
