Comedy Central is giving more than 200 aspiring comedians a chance to prove they're the next Dave Chappelle of standup. During the month of September, 26 clubs partake in a nationwide talent search featuring the best local comics of their area. In the end, eight funny people will be selected to perform in the 4th annual Comics to Watch, scheduled to air November 6. The grand prize winner receives a spot on the network’s college tour, an appearance on a future Comedy Central standup series, $2,500 cash and more. To see if one of OC’s own comedians has what it takes to make their big TV break and possibly head down the path of Chappelle (minus the meltdowns), head to the Irvine Improv for our own preliminary round.
