The Long Beach Bayou and Blues Festival, a two-day celebration of the best of the Big Easy, returns for its 27th year. The fest brings the sounds, sights and tastes of the Louisiana Bayou to the Long Beach coast with musical performances, a Mardi Gras parade and crawfish eating contests. Blues, jazz and zydeco artists fill two stages throughout the weekend, while dance instructors stand by for those needing a lesson or two. The featured artists include Pine Leaf Boys, Brian Jack and the Zydeco Gamblers, Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots and more. A recreated French Quarter offers a variety of shops and crafts, as well as food and drink for guests to enjoy a taste of Cajun and Creole cuisine. Be sure to bring a mask or costume for the parade—the adult with the most original costume wins a prize!
