Miss last month's Poke Festival in San Diego? Fear not, fish lover, Don the Beachcomber is excited to present their 2nd Annual Poke Festival and competition. Chefs from OC restaurants, including North Shore Poke Company and Hapa J's, battle it out to create the best mixture of cubed fish, seaweed, sauces and other tasty bits to win the coveted "Best Poke" title and bragging rights. But instead of using Ahi tuna, which is currently being overfished at dangerous rates, competing chefs must incorporate a sustainable seafood product into their dish. Raising awareness about the importance of sustainable fishing while shelling out delectable helpings of poke? Sounds delicious.
