“I would rather have thirty minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special,” writes Robert Harling, author of the play and film adaptation Steel Magnolias, the heartwarming story of a group of Southern ladies who frequent a beauty salon to gossip, tease, laugh, fight, and comfort one another through life’s many joys and challenges. Based on the story of Harling's sister’s death from diabetes, Steel Magnolias takes audiences on a roller coaster of emotions—including beautician character Truvey Jones’ favorite: laughter through tears. Enjoy a few hours of wonderful and watch Steel Magnolias put on by the Laguna Playhouse as their final show of the 2012-2013 season.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: April 30. Continues through May 25, 2013
