Spend Valentine's Day with Shakespeare's last romantic comedy—the Chapman University Department of Theatre presents their rendition of the tale of Viola, a poetry-loving shipwreck survivor who tries to win the love of Orsino by disguising herself as his male servant. Hey, whatever works. But, in one of the Bard's classic twists, the object of Orsino's obsession, Olivia, falls in love with cross-dressing Viola, thinking she's a man. This is Shakespearian comedy at its best. Directed by Tom Bradac, the Twelfth Night opening night is perfectly situated for this Day of St. Valentine, but runs through the next two weekends. And should you be so inclined, there is a free hour-long discussion about the play hosted by Chapman Theatre and English professors on February 21.
