Good ol' Shakes the Clown. One of our favorite trashy comedies of the early '90s also introduced the country to the many talents of Bobcat Goldthwait—not just a coarsely-vocaled, maniac standup comedian but also an especially capable actor and director. In his new comedy special, You Don't Look the Same Either, Bobcat shows just how far he's come since the days of fringe jumpsuits and Police Academy movies—and he looks good. As one woman in an airport said to him, "I don't mean to insult you, but you look like Bobcat Goldthwait." We're especially excited to see his appearance at the Brea Improv this weekend—he's still self-depreciating and the famous voice is ever apparent, though less manically delivered now—but this Bobcat is wiser, calmer, and dare we say it, even funnier.
