Short, sweet, and a solid guarantee that none of your snobby theater friends have seen any of these before—the ShowOff! International Playwriting Festival 2013 comes to the Camino Real Playhouse starting this week. Friday night is the official preview, so here's your chance to be among the very first to witness these seven theater world premieres. Yes, seven plays are shown in one night, but at just 10 minutes each, the whole shebang only runs as long as a movie. A few we're especially looking forward to are Can You Hear Me Now?, touted as "a tense, psychological thriller," and Mary Higgins Throws a Dinner Party, a comedy in which a match-making disaster nearly ruins a dinner soiree.
