Dana Point Turkey Trot

Dana Point Harbor

While discussing the origins of Thanksgiving can certainly start snippy fights over the cranberry sauce that have nothing to do with your warped family relations, the spirit of the thing, like all good holidays, can be your saving grace. Take, for example, the incredible wealth of charity that floods into the mainstream every fall, starting with the initial high of handing out candy to strangers who, one day a year, aren’t afraid to knock on our doors and who we aren’t afraid to greet. Doing for others is the deal, and this year, the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce asks you to join in a wee trot to ensure that the men and women of our armed forces get to enjoy a day of togetherness and feast with their loved ones. Don’t be a turkey—sponsor a soldier and relish the high of both thanks and giving.
