The San Diego Comic Con has become a giant clustercrap of traffic, inflated prices and anti-social comic geeks thrown into a massive herd of thousands of people. Good luck even driving anywhere near the city's downtown that week. Well, to the grumbling of comic convention purists, and to the delight of the rest of us, the Long Beach Convention Center presents its fourth annual Con this weekend. With live online talk shows, a masquerade ball, comic and literary panels, tons of exhibitors and special guests, it's everything a comic convention should be, including thousands of comics from local artists as well as from around the world—but without all the big-budget stuff muscling in and ruining it (read: no fucking Twilight).
