Every year, thousands of brave, beautiful, fearless women don their rose-colored shirts and race, jog or walk to raise funds for breast cancer screening, education and treatment services. A quarter of the proceeds goes directly to the Komen Global Research Fund to aid science in finding the cure. So register now for the Sunday morning event (there are 5K and one-mile choices, as well as a non-running option) and do your part to raise funds for the 3.1 million dollar goal. But we warn you, attending Race for the Cure and running alongside so many affected by breast cancer takes a strong will—so in addition to running shoes and sunscreen, remember to bring lots and lots of tissues.
