Morning of Remembrance

Pretend City Childrens Museum

This year marks the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. In memory of this American tragedy, Irvine’s Pretend City Children’s Museum is hosting a Morning of Remembrance, providing parents an opportunity to teach their children about the historical significance of September 11, giving families a chance to reflect with the rest of the community. This event features a community art project and a reading of the touching children’s book Frankie Wonders... What Happened Today? by Yvonne Conte. The story explores September 11 from the perspective of 4-year-old Frankie as he processes his feelings of anger, confusion and fear. Morning of Remembrance honors those lost as well as celebrates our local heroes—a true learning experience for all ages.
