Award-winning playwright Michael Hollinger challenges the line between this life and the next with the West Coast premiere of his latest mysterious and thrilling creation, Ghost-Writer. The year is 1919 and famed novelist Franklin Woolsey has died, but his loyal secretary Myra remains seated in front of her typewriter. She claims to still be receiving dictation for her late employer’s unfinished novel, and sends it chapter by chapter under his name to the publisher. This, of course, drives her critics wild—is this woman mad or could she really be channeling the great Woolsey? Myra continues to piece together his final masterpiece, while fighting off constant claims of forgery and deception, in an attempt to prove that she is more than just your average ghostwriter.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 22. Continues through Sept. 16, 2012
