Scoop up the kiddos and head to the shore this Wednesday evening for Crystal Cove's Movies on the Beach. At the newly renovated Film and Media Center (named after Beaches, shot at this very location), the Crystal Cove Alliance presents a screening of a family-friendly movie filmed at the state park way back in the day: Herbie Rides Again, the campy, goofy 1974 flick about a VW Bug coming to life and saving an old lady's home from a nasty developer. So bring a lawn chair, a blanket and a flashlight and enjoy one of the most wholesome indulgences of summer. Popcorn and refreshments available for purchase.
