The Orange County Great Park’s fifth annual Flights & Sounds Summer Festival is taking locals on a musical tour around the world without having to step foot in an airport. In partnership with the Irvine Barclay Theatre, the park lined up an international array of musicians, dancers and artists for its summer series. This session spotlights Poncho Sanchez and His Latin Jazz Band featuring Grammy Award-nominated  jazz  trumpeter Christian Scott performing as part of the Latin Music Weekend. The group plays Cubano Be, Cubano Bop, a program that celebrates the historic collaboration of bebop legend Dizzy Gillespie and Cuban conguero Chano Pozo. Bandleader Poncho Sanchez’s style of jazz has been entertaining audiences for more than 30 years with its Latin and South American influences.
