They teased, we waited, and then last week, it finally happened: No Doubt released their first single in 10 years. The new video for "Settle Down," a reggae-infused, dancehall trucker party, is a full-circle experience for fans of the pop-ska quartet from OC. (Fun Orange County fact: At the beginning of the video, bassist Tony Kanal eats an orange, a nod to the band's Anaheim roots and the citrus fruit held by front gal Gwen Stefani on the cover of their 1995 breakthrough album, Tragic Kingdom.)
While watching the musical reunion, a few thoughts crossed my mind. First, damn, that woman does not age. Second, I really wanna listen to "Just a Girl" and "Spiderwebs" right now. And third, there's hella product placement. It's a bit shameless how the video plays out as a six-minute commercial, but nonetheless, Stefani is a fashion icon who has been rocking it for decades. Here's what you need to channel her "Settle Down" style.
INFALLIBLE 8HR LE GLOSS IN RED FATALE
Stefani is a spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris, and in the video, she applies the brand's Infallible lip gloss to get her signature red pout. The hydrating gloss is formulated to stay put for a whopping eight hours. That's a lot of puckering. Available at drugstores, $9.99.
