With his hepcat snarls and sharp falsetto runs, Chris Isaak’s style is one of the most unique in pop music (just listen to the "Wicked Game" melody), and he found his original approach by studying the singers from the generation of original rock—the music produced by the legendary Sam Philips at Sun Studio in Memphis, like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis. In celebration of Isaak’s love for the '50s music that helped shape his own career, he is paying tribute to his heroes with a tour and release of new album Beyond the Sun, where Isaak covers his mentors and performs the Sun Studio recordings.
