It is said that mariachi music is not read but felt. During this installment of MOLAA’s Murals Under the Stars, a multimedia series by internationally renowned lecturer Gregorio Luke, mariachi music is not only heard, but experienced in a way unique to the casual listener. Featuring a live mariachi band demonstrating the role of each instrument and displays on different mariachi rhythms, coupled with film clips of mariachi superstars, displays of visual art inspired by the popular music genre, and murals that inspired the music itself, “Murals Under the Stars: Mariachi Music” will leave you feeling appreciation for the art form like never before.
