In 2010, the Broadway hit La Cage Aux Folles smashed records and became the first ever to wine three Tony awards for Best Musical (beginning with its US debut in 1983, followed by two revivals). If you remember The Birdcage, the 1996 Robin Williams/Nathan Lane romp, then you're familiar with the plot—a cabaret owner and his drag queen lover try, in vain, to cover up their true, fabulous selves in order to impress some uppity future in-laws.
