More About

Like their song says, the Avengers were second-to-none—a fireball punk quartet out of San Francisco in 1977, who opened for the last-ever Sex Pistols show and who put out the most popular record on the legendary L.A. label Dangerhouse. They were fast, they were ferocious and they had Penelope Houston up front with a this-is-war-style buzzcut and a voice more wild animal than teenage girl—and in their short brutal life, they knocked out classic after punk rock classic. “The American in Me,” “Car Crash,” “Teenage Rebel,” “Corpus Christi,” “We Are The One”. . . we could go on, or you could take advantage of the actual Avengers reuniting with a rhythm section lifted from other Bay Area punk stalwarts and just go to the show!
