Ralphs can kiss our butt. Vons, Albertsons and Stater Bros.? Bite it! Starting tomorrow, we’re goin’ all Little House on the Prairie. That’s right, we’re gonna be making our own cheese, bread, soda, salad and jam. We’re also taking up refrigerator pickling, aquaponics (that’s fish and plants), veggie growing, backyard bees, chickens and composting. (And if the neighbors don’t like those last two—tough manure!) Add two essential food groups—artisan beers and organic wines—and we’re pretty much set for life. Demos in all these, plus gourmet food trucks, samples from local restaurants, live music and art exhibitions await at the Great Park. Only one problem: Trader Joe’s . . . we wish we knew how to quit you.
