So how do you plan on celebrating National Poetry Month? (Don’t pretend like you didn’t know it was April, either.) Maybe you’re thinking about dressing up as Walt Whitman, growing a gray beard, walking around the United States and reciting, "O Pioneers! O Pioneers!" Whatever crazy concoction you've invented to celebrate this poetry fete, we recommend you head to the 26th Biannual Visiting Poet/Writer Event featuring Susan Davis, the director of the undergraduate creative writing program at UCI. This Tuesday only, hear Davis read from her poetry collection, I Was Building Up to Something, and immerse yourself in writing that critic Robert Pinsky declares "has the indelible yet understated quality of certain photographs." So come out and support SoCal poetry.
