While most people can't afford a quick trip across the pond to catch this London performance in person, National Theatre Live does us a solid and broadcasts shows to big screens across the world. This week, the Barclay Theatre gets a turn with She Stoops to Conquer, the kind of comedy of manners, mistaken identity and marriage mayhem those Brits do so well. Watch as the well to-do Mr. Hardcastle meets prospective son-in-law Marlow, only to be mistaken for a working-class innkeeper. And his daughter? Taken for a lowly barmaid—the class of woman Marlow finds particularly appealing (if you catch our drift). Of course, Miss Hardcastle finds the attention intoxicating, much to her father's dismay. No sex tapes or drug overdoses—just a good, wholesome scandal.
