Born with a microphone in her hand to a world of music royalty, Nikka Costa found mega success at the tender age of five and it's been a happy climb ever since. Though European stardom was met early on, Costa's US market remained untapped until 2000, when thanks to a Tommy Hilfiger ad (go figure), her music was broadcast to the masses. Think Fiona Apple but with more funk and less angst, or Nelly Furtado the other way round, but when Americans first heard this fiery redhead, it was love—godfather Frank Sinatra was surely smiling down at that moment. Currently touring in support of 2011's PRO*WHOA!, Costa hits the Coach House this week—definitely a show not to be missed.
