Fishbone remains one of the unbeatable soldiers of ska. Though the genre itself has seen a few ups and downs, the LA-based group rides the tide expertly. Touring constantly and enjoying the positive reception of their recently-released documentary Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone, Fishbone's crowds might be smaller in 2011 but they're just as fierce. They've got trumpets and trombones and sax—and with seven studio albums, three live ones and a whopping five DVDs, some might say they're the forerunners of ensuring ska's survival. Die-hards are advised not to miss the two-tone funk and soul band's show at Costa Mesa's Tiki Bar, a local watering hole with a knack for securing impressive acts.
