Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the most common form of the degenerative disease made famous by decades of Jerry Lewis telethons. The most severe of the nine major types, it's also incurable. Children born with the Duchenne's lose muscle due to a lack of a protein—eventually being confined to wheelchairs. Many die by age 20. The Coalition Duchenne continues the fight to raise awareness of this devastating disease by holding a musical event at the Galaxy Concert Theater this week. Guests performers include The Michael Olivieri Band—whose sultry rock ballads will make you temporality forget the horrors nature can bestow upon us. So go have some fun, but make the most of it.
