Oakland's High on Fire represents some stoner metal tonight (that's traditional heavy metal laced with blues and psychedelic rock) as the trio hits the Galaxy and tests the limits of the venue's amplifiers (we heard they go up to 11). Since the band's inception in 1998, they've put out an album every other year or so and tirelessly toured around the country with heavy hitters like Mono, Mastodon, Dethklok, Converge—they even opened for Metallica in Europe. It's going to be sex, drugs and metal this weekend—and with High on Fire's cannibalistic drums and guttural vocals, the Galaxy may be seeing stars after the show.
