More About

L.A.’s Pacific Standard Time is less an exhibition—or a series of exhibitions—than an event, or even an explosion. Right now, almost twenty varied cultural institutions are presenting all sorts of powerful showcases for art of all kinds made in L.A., extending from just after World War 2 to just before Reagan’s inauguration. Performance art, photography, film, protest graphics—it’s all there, don’t you worry, and will make your head swim to realize just how much happened right here. OCMA’s contribution is "State Of Mind," tentpoled by giants Chris Burden and William Wegman—both represented here by seldom-seen work—and reinforced by almost 150 other pieces. If you’d like to revive a certain part of your own mind, this is a perfect place to explore. Opening Day festivities include performances, artist talks and hands-on activities.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 9. Continues through Jan. 22, 2011
