So, if Lady Gaga stole “Born this Way” from Madonna, and “Joe Calderone” from Annie Lennox (see Grammy’s, 1984), then she certainly snatched her overall look—peroxided mop and blowfish eye makeup—from Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons. The difference, of course, is that new wave goddess Bozzio and her MP band were groundbreakers of their day—no one looked like them or sounded like them, and, per their mandate, nobody ever walked in L.A.
