JUSTICE FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE
You can dry-clean your uniform or wipe blood off your faces, but a bloodstain has a memory. It is only a dead man who can see a fair justice. Kelly Thomas is watching all of you from above [R. Scott Moxley's Moxley Confidential, "Kelly's Heroes," Aug. 5]. He is still in Fullerton, waiting for his justice.

A RESPONSE TO A RESPONSIBLE RAPPER
Yeah, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain burnt out in their prime, and thus have inspired a bunch of 16-year-old suburban hipster kids to get addicted to heroin. "Shame on Weezy for not self-destructing!"—just an example of how morbid our society is [Ben Westhoff's "Sober Lil Wayne: Good or Bad?" Aug. 26]. The guy has kids; we should be applauding him for making a positive life decision and setting an example for the millions suffering from substance abuse who AREN'T rich celebrities.

The worst part of this story is John Chamberlain was innocent of his crime [R. Scott Moxley's Moxley Confidential "Staring Into the Blind Spot," Aug. 12]. All right, the guy looked like a fluffy dork, and that alone is worth a little ribbing, but everyone involved in this is not only stupid, but they most likely bat both ways, too.

I personally was offended by your comments about half-blacks [Gustavo Arellano's ¡Ask a Mexican! "If You're Half-Mexican And . . ." Aug. 19]. I am a black woman, 47 years old, and I know what we as a race have to overcome daily, as well as what we suffered through in the past to not be called certain names—and here you come with your garbage. I did not find your article funny. As a Mexican, I feel like you are degrading your race and your talents, if that's what you call them. They should and could be put to better use. Talk about your own race, but the black race does not need to further your career by being used.

CROOKED COP = DOG BITES MAN?
Duh! Cops DO think they can do whatever they want just because they are cops [R. Scott Moxley's Moxley Confidential "This Isn't the Man You Are Looking For," July 29]. They are the most crooked of the crookedest. And they usually get away with it, too. I can't believe this would still be news to anyone. It's so rampant nowadays its old news.

HE DIDN'T INHALE
Hey, it's a little unfair to add that Trevor Hall sounded stoned [Taylor Hamby's Locals Only, "Make Me One With Everything," Aug. 19]. Readers who aren't familiar with him will simply assume he is a stoner because he plays reggae music and really miss out on an opportunity to learn some of the beautiful insights this sincere truthseeker is sharing with us. That was highly unprofessional. I, for one, love his responses, and I'm a fan of his music. I don't believe he sounds dreamy or stoned; the man is just relaxed and close to God.

ZOMBIE CARRY NATION STALKS THE INTERNETS!
I am unable to comprehend the need or compulsion to numb one's brain unless it is to sate the implanted desire and/or belief via lifelong propaganda/indoctrination from corporate USA that fun requires a constant party along with imbibing alcohol [Gustavo Arellano's Drink of the Week, "Platte Valley Corn Whiskey," Aug. 26]. So sad. Such an easily manipulated herd of citizen-sheep bleating out in rapturous joy as they obey their master's indoctrination.

ACTUALLY, IT WENT JUST FINE . . .
This [secret Green Day show at Tiki Bar] is a seriously BAD idea [Mental Notes, "How Green Day Came to Costa Mesa," compiled by Lilledeshan Bose, Aug. 19]. This venue is WAY too small to host a band this big without a presale. The "secret" is all over Twitter. Green Day is a trending topic. I'm thinking this is gonna get ugly . . . fast. If they wanted to raise money for charity, Galaxy Concert Theatre may have been a better idea.
