Cue the creepy three-note theme music: STAGEStheatre in Fullerton is reinventing the classic television series The Twilight Zone for the stage this month. The series helped to bring spine-tingling science fiction to the mainstream in the mid-20th century and was known for addressing deep moral questions with bizarre and disturbing allegories—all with a bit of camp, of course. The original series ran from 1959 through 1964, but now the grassroots, nonprofit theater company resurrects episodes such as “The Man in the Bottle” (be careful what you wish for) and “Number 12 Looks Just Like You” (beauty is in the eye of the beholder). Bring a buddy you can hold on to.
Fridays, Saturdays, 11 p.m. Starts: June 17. Continues through July 16, 2011
