Forget for a second that Big Wednesday is about surfing. Instead, ponder the fact that it features two titans of the wet-brain condition: star of ’80s television Knight Rider rip-off Airwolf, Jan-Michael Vincent, and the ever-entertaining celebrity rehabber Gary Busey. And then imagine a conversation between these two today. The story follows the lives of three California dudes in the 1960s who don’t know if they’ll make it to the mythical, perfect-wave-laden Big Wednesday, or perish in some rice paddy in Vietnam. Heavy shit. It also features the guy from ’80s TV show The Greatest American Hero, a show people remember vividly despite the fact it was only on for three seasons.
