For the most part, professional dancers are considered successful if they can get, well, any paying gig that doesnt involve a stripper pole. That is, of course, save for the lucky few who secure a spot on one of TVs bewilderingly mega-successful shows such as Dancing With the Stars or So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD); for them, job offers flood their agents inboxes like spam for discount Viagra. Case in point: Burn the Floor, the theatrical ballroom-themed dance performance currently at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, features not one, but five former SYTYCD-ers. The lineup includes Anya Garnis, Pasha Kovalev, Robbie Kmetoni, Janette Manrara and Karen Hauer. Also showing off her fancy footwork is Vonzell Solomon, the second runner-up from American Idols fourth seasonyou know, just for good measure.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: May 31. Continues through June 12, 2011
