This is going out to the group of guys on bikes in Long Beach on a recent Friday afternoon: How about using the newly constructed bike lane—you know, the one they built by taking away a lane for cars? You were too lazy to move to the other side of the street (where the shiny, new bike lane was), instead reducing Broadway to one lane. Glad I had that handy, loud-ass horn on my car to scare the crap out of you all.
Discourtesy is a form of laziness. In all truth though in my experience as a bicyclist and as a driver of a car there is far more discourtesy shown to the bicycles than the other way around, but both groups are guilty at least to some extent, such as bicycle going through blocking right turn lane, I've had cars make right turn directly in front of me when I was on a bike in the correct lane going straight, avoided injury only barely.
Pardon me for having glanced at a Drivers Handbook some time in my life, but isn't that lane on the other side of the road for use by vehicles going in the other direction? I think we _all_ drive on the right in this country, no?
