While there’s a certain clique of adults that believes bullying and school brawls are just a part of growing up (perhaps back in the days when children didn’t routinely bring guns to school and broadcast names, photos and threats across the Internet), the truth is that now more than ever, parents need to step up and parent. As part of Long Beach’s pride awareness, this documentary, narrated by comedian Lily Tomlin—who will also make a guest appearance at the screening—focuses on the many faces of homophobia in the school system and the efforts to keep all children safe from warped adult bigotry passed down through the generations.
