Big Band Mondays are alive and well at Steamers Jazz Club in Fullerton. Every week, the jazz club and café hosts an ensemble of musicians that takes you back to the era of Goodman and Krupa, Calloway and Dorsey—with this round going to Bill Strout’s Big Band 2000. The group have held the second-Monday-of-the-month residency to much success, cramming more than a dozen tuneful folks onstage. And when paired with vocalist Shannon Lee Blas and her smoky pipes, Bill Strout’s Big Band 2000 turn Steamers into a sizzlin’ hotspot. Never mind that it’s a Monday night; this is the place to be for a good pinot and even better music.
