The Boy In the Bathroom is about exactly that: a boy named David who is too afraid to take a chance on life and has spent the past year living in his loo. Fear controls David’s life so much that he even writes his college thesis on rolls of toilet paper to avoid the outside world. He survives with the help of his mother, who slides flat food under the door and occupies his time by decorating the bathroom with origami birds. As you would expect, he can’t stay isolated forever and is finally given a reason to emerge when he develops a relationship—through the bathroom door—with a girl named Julie. Watch this musical to see if David garners enough courage to step outside.
