For their Segerstrom Center premiere—and to ensure a solid first impression—Grammy-winning Pacifica Quartet bring out the big guns (classically speaking, of course). The ensemble’s debut consists of an all-Beethoven program: “String Quartet Op. 18 No. 4 in C Minor,” “String Quartet Op. 59 No. 1 in F Major” and “String Quartet Op. 59 No. 2 in E Minor.” To the non-Ludwig-speaking people out there, just know that means a lot of exquisitely composed, breathtaking music from one of the greats. Prior to the concert, musicology professor Byron Adams gives a free preview talk in the Samueli Theater.
